Family history.....local history......Ross & Cromarty in the Highlands of Scotland...........are what this website is about, in particular, it includes a searchable database of headstone images & inscriptions for burial sites in Ross & Cromarty.

Why Ross & Cromarty? The obvious reason is that it's where I live. By good chance, it is also an area that teems with history within a superb and varied landscape - the Northern Highlands of Scotland. I live on the Black Isle. My gt-gt-grandparents, both Macleods born in Assynt, Sutherland, lived in Coigach. Therefore, a bias to these areas is apparent on this site, which should be rectified soon.

The Headstone Photos button links to the headstone/inscription images database.  There are direct links to the Parish and Burial Sites pages from the headstone image pages.

There is no charge for accessing the database. If you wish to copy information or images, it would be good if you would acknowledge this site as the source.
